Blackstone Solicitors join campaigners to inspire women in the workplace #imnotjohn

Guardian research shows there are more chief executives called John than there are female chief executives in FTSE100 companies. See the following Guardian article:

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/mar/06/johns-davids-and-ians-outnumber-female-chief-executives-in-ftse-100

The article shows the lack of women occupying the top jobs in FTSE100 companies. But this inequality is not unique to the corporate world: females are under-represented in senior management positions in charities, government and hospitality.

The #imnotjohn campaign wants to provide women across the North West with role models who show that you don’t have to be a John, Dave, Mark or Andrew to succeed. It will be showcasing examples of female leaders who challenge this research, and give women wanting to rise up the ranks the belief that they too can be the boss in their chosen career.

When Emma Nawaz, Managing Director of Blackstone Solicitors heard of this campaign she was delighted to show her support and share her own success story in the hope to inspire young females in the workplace.
